Bill grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and graduated with his B.A. in business from Pacific Lutheran University, where he also played on a national champion football team, and volunteered as a Young Life leader. After working and volunteering in ministry for several years, he attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, graduating with his MDiv in 1996. He worked as a campus minister with Cru at the University of Oregon until 2004, when he started Athletes in Action at Boise State University. He began teaching apologetics at the Biblical Studies Center in 2009, was hired as Executive Director in 2013, and completed his Doctor of Ministry from Talbot Graduate School of Theology in 2018. He enjoys camping, sports, movies, and music with his wife, Laurie, and he also serves as an Athletes in Action Chaplain at Boise State.
